La Frontera Hospitality provides food services to public and private colleges and universities. The company services students with a variety of culinary options, with an emphasis on quality and freshness.
The most recent addition to La Frontera’s portfolio is illustrative of the company’s business model through its relationship with Dallas Baptist University, an educational institution with more than 4,700 students.
La Frontera’s program includes residential dining in traditional cafeteria, on-campus areas, as well as multiple retail locations in partnership with high-profile, national brands. Additionally, La Frontera offers catering at college and university locations for events such as donor relations and social engagements on campus, as well as recreational events and sports concessions. For example, La Frontera manages the concessions for Horner Ballpark, the home of Dallas Baptist University’s top-10, nationally-ranked Division I baseball program.
The Burrell Group, through Mr. Daniel Burrell, co-founded La Frontera alongside Mr. Jonathan Garcia. During his career, Mr. Garcia has achieved decades of logistical and operational experience that includes a 12-year tenure at Sodexo, in addition to prior senior management roles at Miami International Airport and with the State of Florida in a variety of capacities.
Mr. Garcia’s responsibilities in his role as vice president of Sodexo involved the management of over $100 million of annual revenue regionally in the higher education food and facilities management sector. Notably, his oversight role included the best-in-class, nationally-recognized account of Texas Christian University.
