David Goldschmidt is responsible for the leadership and management of all daily operations for The Burrell Group in its mission to acquire, brand and market its portfolio of assets. Mr. Goldschmidt is responsible for carrying out the long-range strategic plan and direction set forth for The Burrell Group. Prior to joining the Burrell team, Mr. Goldschmidt held several leadership positions in hospitality, real estate and tourism, with an emphasis on driving revenue through strategic marketing initiatives, sales, contract negotiations, and program development.
Mr. Goldschmidt spent five years at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LATCB), the official destination marketing organization for the city of Los Angeles. LATCB reported directly to the Los Angeles Mayor, City Council and a Board of Directors that included LA’s largest hotels and Universal Studios Hollywood. His team of 17 sales directors brought thousands of visitors to Los Angeles. The team booked more than 900,000 meeting and convention room nights for over 200 hotels every year, which contributed over $1 billion annually to the Los Angeles economy. During his tenure with LATCB he worked on several special projects including LATCB’s new Tourism Marketing District (TMD) which increased the organization’s budget by 30%; and he was also project lead on LATCB’s 3-Year Strategic Plan. While working for GES (Global Experience Specialists), Mr. Goldschmidt worked with global brands such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, National Geographic, and James Cameron’s Avatar to book their domestic and international traveling exhibitions into museums, science centers and other targeted venues.
Mr. Goldschmidt graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Political Economics and a minor in International Relations.
