Creative Services and Technology Director
Christopher Oldroyd is the Creative Services and Technology Director for The Burrell Group. In this role, Mr. Oldroyd oversees brand development and website design, in addition to supporting all marketing activities undertaken by The Burrell Group and its affiliates.
Mr. Oldroyd has over thirty years of experience in print, web design, media technology, and media management across a broad scope of businesses that includes broadcast, finance, automotive, real estate, fast-moving consumer goods (“FMCG”), tourism, and publishing. Mr. Oldroyd has managed, owned, or consulted for several media groups and served as a court-appointed receiver. His portfolio encompasses projects in the U.S., Cayman Islands, Spain, United Kingdom, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic, and Italy.
Mr. Oldroyd held various roles with Clear Channel Communications from the late 1990s through the early 2000s, serving as a designer in the outdoor division before eventually transitioning to broadcast brand marketing. He then provided branding support for the Change Management division for Clear Channel Radio’s rapidly-expanding collection of 900+ radio stations.
In 2007, Mr. Oldroyd took a role overseeing Branding and Non-Traditional Revenue with London-based Absolute Radio Consulting, initially working to brand-reposition recently purchased Juice FM Liverpool. Absolute then acquired Richard Branson’s Virgin Radio in 2008, backed by The Times of India. The 16-week launch of the new brand (Absolute Radio) remains the largest multi-platform national media campaign for a radio station in the UK’s commercial radio history.
Before joining The Burrell Group, Mr. Oldroyd founded the award-winning Prague Visitor Magazine in Prague, Czech Republic, in late 2015. The monthly magazine reached more than 250 hotels in the city center and served as the only English reading materials onboard RegioJet and Student Agency buses.
